Rome 2016

Here I am on a high speed train leaving Rome and headed to Venice.   So many emotions going through my head.  It was sad saying good bye this time since I’m not sure when, or if we’ll actually be back…to Rome that is.  Italy yes?.

My gorgeous view from the train.

The best part of our visit was connecting with my niece Lauren. She’s studying In Rome this semester but has traveled all over Europe since she’s arrived. It was fun to treat her to dinner and even more fun to see her along the marathon course!

And yes, the #IRunRome Marathon was a much better experience than my last one. The course is breath-taking!  Running on the cobblestone streets made it a bit more challenging, as well as the heat, but over all, I had a great time.  In fact, if I had to pick one word that describes Rome’s 22nd Marathon would be HOT☀️.  The sun was beating down and the temps kept climbing but I decided at the start, since it was so warm, to just enjoy myself out on the course.  For the most part, I did.

Worth every step!

Thirdly, the Roman food!  Delicious. Pictures are worth a 1000 words?.

Yummy pasta!

When I get home, I’ll re-post a more detailed race re-cap with a few more pics my husband captured of me before, during, and after the race with my over-all results for those who are inrerested?.
