Is there anything that screams “summer!” more than a wedge of cool, sweet watermelon? We all know this fruit—92 percent water, hence its name—is a perfect snack, dessert, breakfast, and post-workout refresher.
I love the sound they make when you cut them open…”crack”. Than that smell….the most hypnotizing melon-y scent ever! They are loaded with those giant seed that make perfect snacks if you want to make them into crispy watermelon seeds. Or just use them for a long distance spitting contest at your next picnic. Don’t tell me you’ve never tried this!
The perfect summer treat! In fact they are not only exceptionally juicy and refreshing, but they are a good slice of health too! Did you know they have an abundance of vitamin A and C? Scientists have also studied the high levels of L-citrulline and arginine contained in watermelons which helps to increase blood flow to all appendages and relaxes blood vessels. WATERMELON AND BASIL SMOOTHIE
- 1 to 2 cups of watermelon
- 1/2 banana
- 4 to 5 medium basil leaves
- 1 serving of Shaklee Energizing LifeShake Vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of flax seeds
- 6 ounces of almond milk
- handful of greens (optional but strongly encouraged)
- Place all ingredients in your vita-mix and blend.
