Christmas Decorating & Banana Ginger Smoothie

Even the Animals Love Chirstmas

Do you decorate for Christmas?  If so, how’s it going?  My husband and I took advantage of some unseasonably warm temperatures here in Minnesota this weekend and enjoyed a few hours of decorating outdoors.  How can you not enjoy 50 plus degrees late November??!

Rob did a GREAT job with the lights!

We started with our tree!  We actually cut our own tree this year at a near by tree farm.  Such fun and I know we’ll do it again.  Other years we have purchased them cut but as we drove out to my brother’s farm to grab dogwood, spruce tips and other greens, we noticed a new tree farm advertising Christmas Trees.  Although some were quite spendy, we managed to find one that was reasonable enough to put outside and still look beautiful.

I have to admit, the tree was a bit challenging to get in place once it was decorated.  I wish I would have had someone else snap a pic of Rob and I on our backs with our feet on the whiskey barrel trying to push it back against the house.  It was quite hilarious?!

The beast was HEAVY!  After some crafty engineering moves, we finally got it in place!

Next we moved on to the Pots.  We saved even more money this year since most of our decorations we’re collected at the farm where I grew up.  Other than the birch logs and one bunch of greens, I’d say we put together a nice hodgepodge and they look amazing! We also were smart and moved them in place before we decorated?.

Love how the Pots turned out!

This took almost 4 hours and since I was on an Intermittent fast with only one cup of bullet proof coffee at 8:45 am, I was starting to feel a bit dizzy from all up and down and up and down of decorating.  I believe I was on hour 19 and although I had a ton of energy still, I was definitley ready to break my fast.  Normally I never miss breakfast and certainly don’t advise it, except on a fast day once or twice a week.

This is my go to smoothie when I am in a rush.  Many of us skip breakfast because it takes too much time.  Seriously folks, the easiest and quickest option when in a rush is ALWAYS SMOOTHIES!

Smoothies can pack a lot more nutrients than bars and take very little time and are the perfect meal for breaking a fast. And this is also perfect post run or when you’re hungry from 4 plus hours of Decorating?.

Not to mention, they are also very satisfying!

Here’s one of my favorite 5-minute smoothies:
