What did you have Easter Morning? I can hardly believe it was one week ago today. This Sunday morning was like most others, morning devotions, some quite time, and than several dynamic stretches before I headed out for my run. As usual, I rushed to get ready for church getting there in the nick of time. Seems like no matter how much time I have to get ready for church, we almost always are running late.
If you love apple pie, you’ll love this cheesecake! And if you love cheesecake, this may be your favorite one yet! I am serioulsy not joking! My mom makes some of the BEST pies ever, including apple, my fave, but this Cheesecake ROCKS!
There is a first time for everything…….
Do you get tense, anxious, nervous when someone asks you to do something that is completely out of your comfort zone? I do! And maybe you’re like me, avoid the task all together? When I first started running way back in high-school, I had no idea it would lead to a first marathon!
Later running became a way for me to relieve more stress and tension in college! Running was still fun, but it also was a vehicle for me to keep my sanity and relieve stress. I had no intentions of running a marathon, or even a half for that matter! Local 5k, 10K and occasionally 8 or 10 milers were all distances that seemed appropriate. 13.1 or 26.2…those were way out of my radar…so I thought.
Hope your Easter was as special as mine. Some days are just just so perfect aren’t they? Easter Sunday is such an incredible day. HE IS RISEN INDEED. Doesn’t that just put a smile on your face! It sure does mine! Easter Sunrise Service has always been a tradition for us growing up as kids. Not sure how my parents managed to get all four of us kids dressed up in our easter outfits and to church on time. Seriously they ROCK!
Aren’t the good days great! There is nothing as refreshing to a body and soul as having a good day. You know, those days where everything seems right. Perfection. Bright sunshine! Both outside and inside of us.

“Do you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24
It’s no secret, Christmas is a special time of year. The lights are magical. The snow-dusted sidewalks are pretty. Christmas Carols are playing full swing. And of course, tis the season for giving. There is something about Christmas that sparks more good in people and you’ll notice more giving both to those you love and those in need. It’s when you see bell ringers freezing but greeting you with a smile as they ring their bell in hopes for some donation, no matter how big or small. It’s the time of year when people reach out and do kind things for others, even complete strangers. We open our hearts a little wider, love a little more, and do our very best to make a difference in this crazy world we live in.
Just like everyone else, I love it when the weekend rolls around!! I follow many other bloggers, and most all of them share some of their favorite things about Friday’s; which led me to think about this past weekend. To be honest, I am not sure if you really care, but in case you want to know a bit more about me, here’s a run down of my weekend Fave’s.
1. My Long Run Day! Friday’s are most often my long (or semi-long) run days. Since it’s early into my training, I didn’t have a 20 miler this weekend, but I did get out there and run a bit longer than I do on most week-days. Why…because I love to run, especially longer distances. Long Slow Distances are some of my favorite runs….so I love my Friday morning Runs…even the chilly ones! Brrrrrr……
