It was a Great Morning for a Run…..and some FUN!

After a very emotional week grieving the loss of a best friend, I went into this race to do my best and have fun. I hadn’t run much all week, nor did I feel like running, and when I did, most often I had to stop and cry. It’s true, “It’s not always about the running!” Coach MK.

But you know what. I showed up just like Des would have, and that alone was an accomplishment?. THANK YOU DES~

It turned out to be a perfect day for running. No rain or snow as predicted, and the wind, not bad either. My last 10K and Half Marathon were a bit breezy too but the extra wind resistance is good for us right runners?.

My sister-in-law Gail and I stayed warm in the car since the wind made it feel much cooler than the actual temp of 40 degrees.

About 30 minutes before the start I headed to the packet pick up, did my warm up drills, and I was ready to run?‍♀️!

My Run Data On Polar after Uploading…..Hills were TOUGH.

I struggled a bit on the back half due to the hills, but over all, pleased with my results. I was hoping to hold on to 8:25 pace or less but it wasn’t quite my day. I also made the mistake of going out a bit too fast. It was a super FUN Race and incredibly well organized in case you’re interested in this event next year.

The best part of the race was seeing this guy at the finish. He was at work finishing up inventory and I really was’t expecting to see him till we met up for brunch. Such a NICE surprise❤️️.

He was happy for me and as always & said I DID GREAT! He’s truly my #1 FAN

January of this year I upgraded my Training Peaks and it’s been super cool to analyze your runs once they are uploaded. Once you upgrade, you can see different data and graphs like the ones shown below. I was pumped to see my Pa-Hr factor below 5%. If you have no idea how to interpret TP, there are plenty of videos on U-tube or on the TP site. I honestly don’t get hung up on the numbers because it can be mentally fatiguing. Don’t let it determine your performance…..they are just guidelines. The graphs are not 100% accurate but just a way to see if you’re consistent. And FYI…the free version is pretty awesome too.

Check out these hills…..OUCH!

Almost immediately after I uploaded my run, I sent my Coach MK a note using Paperless Post. Have you ever used this product? I received a cute note card about a year ago from my Friend Ellie from Simply Nourished who I met through my coach. I have been hooked ever since and love the convenience of sending out a quick note on a whim.

Recently Paperless Post reached out to me and asked me to share a little about them & in return they gifted me more coins to purchase more note cards. Obviously I accepted graciously since I absolutely love their product! Go to Paperless Post and see for yourself.

Paperless Post is an e-commerce company focusing on design-driven online and printed stationery, including greetings, invitations, birth announcements, wedding suites, and custom stationery. Paperless Post partners with leading fashion designers including Kelly Wearstler, and Oscar de la Renta.

They have amazing customer service, and abundance of cards, flyers, invitations and most importantly, are easy to customize and personalize for your recipients. I can’t wait for you to discover Paperless Post. Yes I still use “snail mail”, but I also love the convenience of this company! Let me know what you think ok.

Have you ever used a running coach?

Have you used Paperless Post?

When is your next race? I would like to run a half before I start training for a Fall marathon but not sure where or when!

Have you ever lost a good friend to cancer? Cancer SUCKS. Here is a good mantra that certainly touched my heart.
