It’s that time of year again, the dreaded cold and flu season. Plus I hear their is still a nasty variation of the flu floating around the United States called COVID-19? . YIKES. Friends, we may be done with Covid, but it is certainly not done with us!

No wonder Elderberry is all the rage right now! Do you understand why? Ok let me tell you: Elderberry has been found to shorten the length of flu symptoms and may help decrease the ability for viruses to affect cells.

Elderberries are packed with anthocyanins flavonoids which research suggest that these are what help relieve flu symptoms. I don’t know about you, but I hate being sick. In addition, these minute berries contain active, antiviral agents potent enough to kill off viruses. Cool beans…pardon me, I mean berries?.

Our bodies need a variety of nutrients to function and when our bodes don’t have these nutrients, we get run down and become low on energy, and more susceptible to illness.

IMMUNE BOOSTING ELDERBERRY PROTEIN BITES

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cup Elderberry Life Shake
  • 1/2 cup dates (soak them first if not soft)
  • 1/2 cup Elderberries (frozen or dried will work)
  • 1/2 cup oats (I used these)
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened coconut
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

DIRECTIONS:

  1. If you using dried Elderberries, soak them for about 5 minutes in hot water to soften. If dates are not soft, soak them also.
  2. Blend all ingredients together in food processor.
  3. Taste, form your balls, roll in unsweetened coconut if desired or unsweetened cocoa powder. Store in refrigerator
