Winter Run Views

Besides, I don’t remember a January here in MN being so beautiful. Seriously, do I dare say winter in Minnesota isn’t so bad after all! Our temps are mild, the trees are beautiful, and we have had very little wind making running outside this winter more tolerable. And trust me, nice cream paired with a big bowl of oats after a long run Friday is unbeatable!

Best Nice Cream EVER!

I often times have a bowl of nice cream as an afternoon snack. I can’t really put into words how much I like it. It’s so creamy, tasty, and refreshing, I could eat it every day! Besides, it’s 100% natural and made with just frozen fruit and protein powder. I often times throw in a handful of greens which I promise you can’t taste ~ it just makes your nice cream green? .

My favorite afternoon snack…NICE CREAM

You know what else I love about this healthy snack? You can customize it by topping it with your favorite ingredients. I love a little crunch so I always top mine with a little granola. And don’t forget the nut butter! A few fresh berries are nice too.

All you need is a high speed blender and yummy frozen fruit with protein powder

To make it you only need a powerful blender, a frozen bananas, frozen fruit, protein powder, and 15 minutes of your time. Treat yourself with this refreshing, delicious, and healthy ice cream…also known as Nice Cream!

NICE CREAM

Ingredients:

  • 1 large frozen banana
  • 1 cup of your favorite frozen fruit
  • 1 serving French Vanilla Protein Powder
  • Splash of coconut milk
  • Splash of vanilla and a handful of greens (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place your frozen bananas and other frozen fruit in a high powerful blender. Blend until you have a super creamy banana/fruit nice cream. Be patient, keep blending!
  2. If your food processor or blender can’t blend the frozen bananas, add a splash of any kind of plant milk (coconut or almond milk are my faves). Most often I add about 1/4 cup.
  3. Once it’s ready, you can eat it immediately for a soft texture or transfer it to an airtight container and freeze it for at least 1 hour or until solid. When you are going to eat it, if it’s too hard, let it stand at room temperature for at least 10 minutes or until it has a perfect consistency.
  4. Eat it plain or serve with toppings like granola, nut butter, coconut, cacoa nibs, nuts, or fresh berries.
  5. Keep it in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Feel free to add any other ingredients to customize your ice cream however you’d like.
  • You could also add some sweetener if you’d like your banana ice cream to be sweeter, although I like it better without it.
