Peachy & Minty Green Protein Smoothie, July 4th Weekend, Running vs Racing

Like I said in this post, summer is here and if you live by the water or have a lake home, lucky you! Personally I love everything about summer and the 4th of July, including the HOT weather and this year didn’t disappoint.

Got my red white and blue on too

Last year my husband and I were in Texas and OMG….it was even hotter than I imagined! Due to COVID, my husband made the trip without me and when he called to check in mentioned the air temp was 109 degrees F. Whew……that’s miserable. They pretty much stayed indoors except to jump in their pool in their back yard. The grandkids loved every minute of their time with Grandpa. I certainly miss them.

My brother and I also decided against racing in the Green Lake 12 Mile road race. It’s just too damn hot to race so instead I enjoyed a nice longish and somewhat festive 9 mile run locally.

I am definitley thankful for air-conditioning and smoothies. This time of year definitely screams smoothies. I love how easy and quick they are to make and of course they are the perfect meal after a workout because they help cool you down fast? In this heat, the less you turn on the oven or stove top to heat up the house the better….agree?

I Loved this with the mint but if you don’t have any, no worries…..just as delicious without?!

So if you’re looking for ways to cool down without hitting a pool or beach, this refreshing peach smoothie will do the trick!

Have it with mint or without….either way it was a big hit over the holiday weekend! If you haven’t grabbed your share of fresh peaches, may I suggest you pick some up on your next trip to the market.

I am certain this smoothie will be making an appearance the entire month of July! After all, it’s peach month! Plus I am loving this new & improved Protein! There is no better protein to mix with your favorite fruits than Shaklee’s New French Vanilla Protein Shake Mix. I love that it has 20 grams of plant based protein, it’s vegan & gluten free, and low glycemic. ENJOY!
